Favorite Words from the English Dialect Dictionary

The English Dialect Dictionary, written in 1898 by Joseph Wright, is a massive collection of obscure, colloquial, oddball words that people used to use around England and beyond.  The dictionary contains six volumes, which can be found online.   (Volume I: https://archive.org/details/in.ernet.dli.2015.13022 ) I began reading the EDD to find unique words for my allegorical stories,
